Webinar Overview: This webinar will discuss how applied geoscience, when used appropriately, helps solve humanitarian challenges such as identifying potable water resources’ location and help disaster risk reduction for global communities.
Who should attend: All disciplines of geology, geophysics, geoscience community including seismologists, hydrologists, hydrogeologists and more are welcome to attend this presentation. This webinar will touch upon the applied geosciences technology and equipment used and dabble into the broader impact of these efforts to alleviate humanitarian challenges such as lack of clean water, food security and disaster risks posed from tsunami, landslides, earthquakes and volcanoes.
About our presenter:
Pallavi Bharadwaj - Pallavi Bharadwaj is Program Manager- Geoscientists without Borders ® (GWB) at Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), which is an SEG Foundation supported program. She manages GWB with support from a voluntary Steering Committee and a Technical Review Subcommittee. She also helps all GWB project investigators and their teams, who work with communities in need get access to clean water and gain disaster risk preparedness globally. She has a graduate degree in Environmental Sciences and Public Health, and over two decades of international development program management experience.
